Pony.ai Highlights Progress of Doha Robotaxi Commercial Operations at AEMOB Forum

Doha service provides fare-charging rides through the Karwa app across key commercial districts, transport hubs and visitor destinations.

DOHA, Qatar, September 9, 2026 — At the second Autonomous e-Mobility Forum (AEMOB Forum), Pony AI Inc. (“Pony.ai”) (NASDAQ: PONY; HKEX: 2026) and its local partner Mowasalat (Karwa) highlighted the progress of its commercial Robotaxi operations in Doha. The forum is being held from September 7 to 9 at the Qatar National Convention Centre.

Pony.ai currently operates a commercial Robotaxi service in Doha in collaboration with Mowasalat (Karwa), Qatar’s national mobility service provider. The vehicles provide fare-charging services through the Karwa app, making Doha one of Pony.ai’s key commercial operations outside China.

The program began in August 2025 with initial public-road testing and launched a commercial pilot service through the Karwa app in December 2025, with trained safety operators onboard. The service covers key commercial districts, tourist attractions and city landmarks across Old Doha and West Bay, including the Doha Corniche, the National Museum of Qatar, the Museum of Islamic Art and Old Doha Port. It also provides an airport connection between Hamad International Airport and the city, serving travel needs ranging from daily commutes and airport transfers to sightseeing and leisure trips.

In a July public update, Qatar’s Ministry of Transport said the commercial pilot had delivered high passenger satisfaction and safety performance above initial targets. It added that the program’s operating and technical systems were “ready for the broader adoption of autonomous services,” and that a potential next phase would aim to advance toward fully driverless operation in coordination with the relevant authorities.

Hosted by Qatar’s Ministry of Transport, AEMOB Forum brings together government officials, policymakers and industry leaders to advance autonomous, electric and intelligent mobility. At this year’s forum, Pony.ai demonstrated Gen-7 Robotaxis operating without an onboard safety operator, offering attendees a closer look at its fully driverless technology.

“Doha demonstrates how Robotaxis can be integrated into a modern urban transportation system, offering residents and visitors a safe, comfortable and consistent way to travel while adding capacity to the broader network,” said Dr. James Peng, Founder and CEO of Pony.ai. “Together with Mowasalat, we have built a strong operational foundation and look forward to advancing this work in support of a smarter, more sustainable transportation system in Qatar.”

Under the supervision of Qatar’s Ministry of Transport, the program supports the country’s Autonomous Vehicles Strategy and Qatar National Vision 2030 by advancing the safe integration of autonomous driving technology into public transportation.

Doha is part of Pony.ai’s international expansion, the second engine of its growth strategy alongside China. Through its joint deployment model, Pony.ai combines technology and commercialization experience developed in China with partners’ fleet resources, local operating capabilities and rider access. Its planned and potential overseas deployments exceed 4,000 vehicles.
